MoJ Launch Their Circular Economy Strategy

At the end of April, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) announced they were launching a circular economy strategy.

This is great news that such a significant organisation in the UK is embracing the circular economy - arguably the only or main solution to our increasing waste output problem, whilst meeting increasing societal demands and maintaining the economy.

This may well end up being a landmark case study for where large organisations need to head; hopefully, it will be a great learning experience and the MoJ will work with the rest of the Government to help the UK lead the Global economic shift from Linear to Circular!

In this article they quote ‘ReLondon’ (a partnership of the Mayor of London and the London boroughs) with a nice definition of what the circular economy is trying to achieve:

“An economy in which stuff is kept in use for as long as possible, delivering the highest value it can, for as long as it can. So rather than making, using and then throwing stuff away (a linear system), a circular economy means looking at each of those stages for new ways of cycling materials and value back into the system – using materials and products again and again, in many different forms.”
